I didn't get the chance to test it by press time. Update June 11, Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV The latest software update causes the TV to show you a banner ad when you first power up. It popped up and lasted about 3 seconds, but it was still annoying. I was happy to see I could disable it here's howbut the banner is turned on by default.
Panasonic's Smart TV home page keeps it simple, and I love the ability to customize which apps appear where.
Panasonic barely changed its options on the ST50 and remains one of the least-adjustable TVs on the market. The Cinema setting, which provides the most accurate default settings, doesn't allow tweaking much and now comes with the abhorrent Motion Smoother engaged by default. Turning it Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV rids the picture of smoothness, but I wish that weren't necessary.

The only mode to offer advanced controls is Custom, which unlike the others also allows different settings for each input. Its Pro section gets a two-point grayscale control and a few gamma presets, along with Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV bunch of less useful stuff like Black Extension and AGC, both of which should be set to zero. LG and Samsung offer point or higher grayscale settings, along with full color management, in their plasmas, and the latter would be particularly helpful in Panasonic's case.
It's also worth mentioning that the step-down UT50 series lacks the Pro section. As Advanced picture menus go, the ST50's is pretty basic. These days just about every TV has four HDMI ports, so while I don't think the ST50's Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV of three will cramp most users' hookup plans, it's still notable as is the lack of a VGA input for analog computer connections. So take a look and try them and compare.
Below is a run-down of the preset picture modes found on the ST50 and where we feel they apply the best. But with our settings you really dont need it anyway since ours are the best! See our Picture Settings for the ST50 here.
Standard — This setting is much dimmer than you might expect. It is more Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV likely an energy-saving setting and will not give you much brightness or light throughput nor show you what the ST50 can do color-wise.
Cinema — The Cinema setting is pretty good and and you will immediately notice a good jump in color and radiance and warmer tones. Game Mode — This setting will look blown out like the Vivid setting unless you Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV gaming on the TV, then it is accepatble though to me it shows lots of granulation and artifacts. Vivid — Shows tons of pixelation and artifacts and should be avoided.
There are just too many negative picture effects to name with this setting, so just avoid it. Flesh tones are accurate and real as well, while colors around images popped.
One of the only slight negatives we noted was some pixelating artifacts in a well lit background, especially when there is slow movement on the screen. This is an old plasma issue that Panasonic has never been able to completely solve.
There was also just a slight amount of jerky-judder from some types of images during slow panning. In the ST50 the 3D images jump off the screen and appeared to be deep inside the set.

Panasonic's active 3D is very Panasonic TC-P60ST50 Smart TV with colors that pop and tons of detail. Though dimmer especially due to he darkening effect from the active 3D glasses than some of the 3D LED TVs on the market, quality is impressive. The 3D quality is lively, smooth and rich with the full p resolution being broadcast to each from the panel.
